Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus

Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus LRM246

The ‘kots’ at San Francisco, SLP are a little larger than their more northerly relatives, being up to 5cm in diameter, but we have not seen them in flower to observe any trends in color.  They grow on a typical  ‘kot’ mud silt plain of gypsum soil, but here the vegetation is sparser than at most ‘kot’ locations.  Lophophora diffusa var. koehresii also grows at this locality.
