Ariocarpus bravoanus subsp. hintonii LRM84 This plant is known at just two locations south of Matehuala, SLP. This location is about 6km south west of the town on the southerly slopes of a low hill. Higher up the slope of the hill but less than 10m from the highest of the hintonii grows A. retusus LRM183, but there is no sign of hybridisation between the two, the flowering periods being well spaced. There is evidence of damage by digging rodents and collecting.
