Ariocarpus agavoides

Ariocarpus agavoides LRM97

This plant grows on the hills around Tula, TAMPS, this location being a hill to the north west, which is the location for the town’s rubbish dump and where severe soil erosion and quarrying occurs, all posing threats to these plants.  Local children are also said to eat the plants as sweets.  The plants are very small and difficult to find out of flower.  Thelocactus tulensis and Stenocactus sp. are also found here.
