Ariocarpus retusus LRM209

These plant from near Castanos, COAH, occur on high southerly facing slopes.  They may represent the northerly limit of the distribution of this species. The plants at this location are large, up to 25cm in diameter, and show the same sort of variation that is common in the species throughout its range.
